Dear December

You sort of sneaked your way in this year. Hi.

Remember when we would go into the woods and cut down our Christmas tree? The smell of cedar and some delicious something or other floating in from the kitchen. Dad looking for the Elvis Christmas album and Mom softly complaining under her breath about having to vacuum up all the needles.

Remember the time the church youth group took a hay ride to go Christmas caroling around town? That was fun.

You may have a sharp bite, but you're not fooling anyone. You give endless supplies of imagination, of story, of wishing and hope. It's good to see you.

And the sunshine you sent today? I really appreciate it.
