A Good Book

Grateful for good books to read on the plane. Especially this one. It's settling in with an old friend. Fiddling with the torn ribbon that saved my place as we catch up where we left off...at my favorite part. Well, one of my favorite parts. The pages welcome me back with a rustle, and I melt at Mr. Rochester's words describing Jane.

"...Besides, I was for a while troubled with a haunting fear that if I handled the flower freely its bloom would fade - the sweet charm of freshness would leave it. I did not know then that it was no transitory blossom; but rather the radiant resemblance of one , cut in an indestructible gem."
