And Some of the Trees Have Faces

I love my neighborhood. From my front door, to the park, around twice, and back is approximately 3 miles. A solid cardio workout. Or just a nice way to stretch your legs. My favorite thing about the park is the inspiration it holds. At least the potential for inspiration, assuming I remember to bring my imagination along with me. Anytime, anytime, I am stuck creatively, all I have to do is take a little stroll. And in a couple of blocks I am transported to another world.

Imagining is easy with street names like Devonshire and Nottingham and houses built straight out of a fairy tale.

There are little stone bridges

And a reflecting pool

where dragons like to sneak up on

unsuspecting mermaids enjoying a good book,

Or where broken hearts can be mended.

A simple park bench becomes a throne.

And the trees

May or may not

Have faces.
